Victory in a T20 match against Sawant Associates Cricket Club at RTO Gymkhana, Azad Maidan, 2pm, 6th Feb 2016

It was a fabulous match yesterday, due to some inadvertent delay by the organisers, we had a late start to our match, we saw the innings of the earlier match before and it looked a difficult pitch batting second.... Once we lost the toss and the opposition opted to bat, we had work cut out.... we knew that we had to keep the opposition down to less than 120/130, to give us a chance of winning the game....
Our bowlers were up for it and used the conditions well to keep the ball in the right areas to get us the leverage that we so needed on that afternoon.... Umar swung the ball well and had the batsmen jumping around in the crease and got one wicket in the 3 overs, only going for 10 odd runs.... Neil realized early that from his end the ball was not swinging much and immediately switched to seaming the ball, didn't give the batsmen any room and bowled out his spell for 20 odd runs Akshay and Yash replaced them and Akshay in particular bowled a good line and length.... Yash bowled one over, but was unable to control his line and was replaced by Rahul after just one over.... the bask by now was not moving much and on a dry wicket it was the right moment to bring in spin.... Rahul replaced Yash and was on song, right from the word go.... he completely bamboozled the batsmen, and at one stage they were just planting the foot and the bat as if to block the ball from hitting the stumps and couple of them were given out LBW... he also took a neat C&B to dismiss a batsman who war trying to break the shackles.... when his spell was over, their innings was in shambles and after a brief counterattack by their lower order, they were back in the pavilion, thanks to some smart bowling and fielding efforts of our team.... Nishant too started off well in his first over but erred in his length in the 2nd and went for runs as a result.... Nagesh and Gunjan polishing off the opposition with a target of 109 for us to chase down....

We didn't start off well with myself given out caught behind on the first ball of our innings, a ball that was maybe 2 inches away from my bat as it left me off the pitch and the umpire who consistently gave some bad decisions through the innings, gave this one out, maybe under pressure from the loud appeal by the opposition.... Yash came in next and along with Neil put up a formidable partnership that laid the foundation of our chase.... Neil did the bulk of the scoring and kept the run rate up and got out on a well compiled 31 to a LBW decision, which was maybe debatable.... Umar came in next and got out quickly to a good delivery that was flighted by the left arm off spinner and was caught at short third man...
Rahul came in next and played the left arm off spinner well till he also got undone by a good delivery.... Once Yash was out, the match seemed in balance and with the way the wicket was behaving by then, stopping, turning, keeping low, it seemed that the opposition were slightly on top.... but our middle and lower order hung in, put their heads down and played a masterful knock each, to take us through.... led by Akshay and supported well by Gunjan, Nishant and the finishing touches by Nagesh in particular were the moments every batsman, worth his money craves for.... I will say this win was fantastic for all is worth.... thanks for coming and playing such a wonderful game of cricket.... Have a great weekend and see you all soon 👏👏👍👍😀😀✌✌
The Man of the Match for his exemplary and match winning bowling spell of 4-0-4-7, was Rahul 👍👍👍👍 fantastic backing up by the whole team 👏👏👏👏
